Overview

Samelisant (SUVN-G3031) is a potent, selective, and orally active small molecule that acts as an inverse agonist of the histamine H3 receptor. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of narcolepsy, including patients with or without cataplexy. By blocking the histamine H3 receptor in the brain, samelisant promotes wakefulness and reduces excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), addressing core symptoms of narcolepsy. Preclinical studies have shown robust wake-promoting and anticataplectic effects without significant off-target activity or abuse liability. Samelisant has completed phase 2 clinical trials demonstrating efficacy in improving EDS in narcolepsy patients[1][2][5][6][7].
