Drug intelligence / Profile preview
San Huang Jiaonang (三黄胶囊), also known as "three yellow capsules," is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation. Its name, "San Huang" (Three Yellows), refers to its primary herbal ingredients: Rhubarb (Da Huang), Scutellaria Baicalensis (Huang Qin), and Coptis Chinensis (Huang Lian). These herbs are traditionally recognized for their yellow color and potent medicinal properties. The formulation is generally used to clear heat, reduce inflammation, and detoxify the body, addressing conditions such as infections, inflammatory diseases, and digestive issues. In the context of a clinical trial, it is being investigated for its potential in preventing early imbalance of glucose homeostasis in individuals with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes.
