Overview
San Rocco Therapeutics-CD47-oligonucleotide is an investigational therapeutic candidate being developed by San Rocco Therapeutics in partnership with Research Corporation Technologies (RCT). The program utilizes next-generation oligonucleotide technology to modulate the protein expression of CD47, a cell surface protein that acts as a "don't eat me" signal to macrophages. By downregulating CD47 expression, the drug aims to overcome immune evasion by malignant cells, facilitating their phagocytosis and clearance. This approach represents a novel method of targeting the CD47-SIRPα axis compared to traditional monoclonal antibodies. The drug is currently in the early stages of development for potential applications in oncology.
