Drug intelligence / Profile preview
San Sang Shen Qi Decoction (三桑肾气汤) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed and investigated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Fengxian, Shanghai. It is primarily used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), particularly in patients with stable, moderate-to-severe disease. The formula is based on the "Three Sangs" (Sang Ye, Sang Bai Pi, and Sang Ji Sheng) combined with the classical Shen Qi Wan (Kidney Qi Pill) framework. It aims to address the TCM patterns of Lung and Kidney deficiency, which are associated with chronic respiratory failure and airway remodeling. Clinical research often evaluates its efficacy in improving lung function, exercise capacity, and quality of life, frequently in conjunction with pulmonary rehabilitation exercises like Liuzijue qigong.
