Overview
San Ye Pian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for its antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying properties. It is commonly indicated for the treatment of acute pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis, and upper respiratory tract infections characterized by symptoms of "heat-toxicity" such as sore throat and fever. The formulation typically consists of botanical extracts from *Folium Isatidis* (Da Qing Ye), *Radix Isatidis* (Ban Lan Gen), and *Herba Taraxaci* (Pu Gong Ying). These ingredients are traditionally believed to clear heat and resolve toxicity. In modern pharmacological terms, the components have demonstrated broad-spectrum antimicrobial and immunomodulatory activities, including the inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators and viral replication.
