Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sancailianmei Particles (also known as Sancai Lianmei Granules or SCLM) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated based on the classical TCM prescriptions 'San Cai Tang' (Sancai Decoction), 'Jiao Tai Wan', and 'Fructus Mume' (Lianmei Decoction), with modifications. The formulation comprises six main herbal ingredients: Renshen (*Panax ginseng*), Tiandong (*Asparagus cochinchinensis*), Dihuang (*Rehmannia glutinosa*), Wumei (*Prunus mume*), Rougui (*Cinnamomum cassia*), and Huanglian (*Coptis chinensis*). Sancailianmei Particles are primarily developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (particularly the Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome) and its complications, such as diabetic ischemic stroke and diabetic testicular dysfunction. The formulation works by regulating blood glucose levels, improving beta-cell function and insulin resistance, modulating gut microbiota, and exerting anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects (such as upregulating the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway and inhibiting excessive autophagy).
