Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sancao formula granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation developed by The Fifth Medical Center of PLA General Hospital (formerly the 302 Hospital of the PLA) for the treatment of autoimmune liver diseases, including autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). The formula is composed of three primary herbs: *Hedyotis diffusa*, *Scutellaria barbata*, and *Salvia chinensis*. It is specifically evaluated for patients with AIH who do not yet meet the criteria for standard immunosuppressive therapy or as an adjunctive treatment to improve biochemical response. The formula is hypothesized to work by inhibiting the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway and regulating the Th17/Treg immune balance, thereby reducing hepatic inflammation and fibrosis.
