Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sancao Lichang Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula developed by Professor Tang Decai and used for the treatment of chronic diarrhea and diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D)[1][2][6]. It is an empirical prescription based on TCM principles, typically composed of multiple herbal ingredients. The decoction has demonstrated efficacy in reducing symptoms of chronic diarrhea and IBS-D, with proposed mechanisms including inhibition of the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway, reduction of intestinal inflammation, and improvement in intestinal mucosal barrier function[8]. Its main active components are believed to be flavonoids, organic acids, and saponins[9]. The formula acts through multi-target modulation typical for TCM formulas.
