Overview
Sanchi powder, also known as Sanqi powder, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) derived from the roots of *Panax notoginseng*. It is being evaluated by the Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences for the treatment of gastric premalignant lesions (GPL) in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis. In clinical trial settings, it is often administered as part of the Jianpi Huoxue Recipe in combination with Moluodan. The therapeutic mechanism of Sanchi powder involves inhibiting the growth of premalignant cells and inducing apoptosis by modulating apoptosis-related genes such as Bcl-2, Bax, and p21WAF1, as well as regulating the abnormal expression of oncogenes like EGFR in the gastric mucosal epithelial cells.
