Sandan Tongluo granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Academy of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of ischemic stroke, particularly for patients diagnosed with the Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. The preparation is a complex herbal mixture typically containing *Radix Astragali* (Huangqi), *Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae* (Danshen), *Radix Notoginseng* (Sanqi), and *Hirudo* (Shuizhi/Leech). Its pharmacological profile is characterized by its ability to improve cerebral microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and provide neuroprotection by mitigating inflammatory responses and oxidative stress following ischemic injury. It is primarily used during the recovery phase of stroke to facilitate the restoration of neurological function and improve activities of daily living. In China, it is registered as a hospital preparation (Registration No. 湘药制字Z20110016).
