Sangaba-Plus

Sangaba-Plus is a topical ointment developed and marketed by Sanrey Therapeutics, an Indian pharmaceutical company. The formulation contains a combination of three active ingredients: gabapentin (8% w/w), diclofenac (4.64% w/w), and methyl salicylate (5.0% w/w). It is indicated for the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain resulting from conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles), and spinal cord injuries. Gabapentin, an antiepileptic agent, functions by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby modulating calcium influx and reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that provide analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation at the site of application.
