Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sangqi Qingxuan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) multi-herbal formula used primarily for the prevention and treatment of hypertension and hypertensive vascular remodeling. It contains multiple bioactive components that act on various molecular targets associated with vascular health. Mechanistic studies indicate that its antihypertensive and vasoprotective effects are mediated through modulation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway as well as inhibition of the ERK/MAPK signaling pathway. These actions help protect arterial vascular endothelial cells (AVECs), reduce blood pressure, inhibit phenotypic transformation of vascular smooth muscle cells, and improve overall vascular function in hypertension models[2][3]. The formula is typically administered as a liquid or decoction.
