Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanhanhuashi (also known as Sanhan Huashi Granules) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed for the treatment of COVID-19. It was formulated based on the Wuhan Cold-Dampness Formula (Wuhan Kangyi Fang) by a team led by Academician Tong Xiaolin. The preparation is designed to dispel cold, eliminate dampness, and detoxify, specifically targeting the cold-dampness pestilence syndrome observed in patients during the early stages of the pandemic. In November 2022, the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) granted marketing authorization for Sanhanhuashi granules for the treatment of mild and moderate COVID-19 cases presenting with symptoms such as fever, cough, and fatigue. The formula consists of multiple botanical ingredients that work synergistically to modulate the immune response and alleviate respiratory symptoms.
