Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanhuang Jiaonang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) patent drug formulated as a capsule, primarily used for clearing internal heat and detoxifying the body. The preparation is derived from the classic "Sanhuang Xiexin Tang" formula and consists of three key botanical ingredients: *Rheum palmatum* (Rhubarb), *Coptis chinensis* (Coptis), and *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Scutellaria). Its pharmacological profile is characterized by the combined action of anthraquinones, alkaloids (notably berberine), and flavonoids (notably baicalin). These constituents provide anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and laxative properties. Clinically, it is widely prescribed in China for the treatment of symptoms associated with "excessive fire," including constipation, mouth ulcers, sore throat, and swollen gums.
