Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanhuang Yishen Capsules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Hebei Cangzhou Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The capsule is typically utilized as an adjunctive therapy to standard treatments, such as the GLP-1 receptor agonist semaglutide, to enhance glycemic control and improve renal outcomes by reducing the urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR) and body weight. Its therapeutic effects are associated with the modulation of serum C1q tumor necrosis factor-related proteins, specifically CTRP3 and CTRP9, which play critical roles in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, as well as providing anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic protection to renal tissues.
