Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanjie Zhitong Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical for the treatment of endometriosis and associated pelvic pain. The capsule is composed of four primary herbal ingredients: *Resina Draconis*, *Radix et Rhizoma Rhei*, *Radix Angelicae Sinensis*, and *Pollen Typhae*. It is pharmacologically designed to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, and alleviate pain through the inhibition of inflammatory mediators such as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and various interleukins. Clinically, it is used to manage symptoms of endometriosis, including dysmenorrhea and chronic pelvic pain, and to reduce the volume of ectopic endometrial lesions. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 4 post-marketing clinical trials in China to further evaluate its efficacy and safety in larger patient populations.
