Overview
Sanohaler is a multi-dose dry powder inhaler (DPI) device and associated product line developed by the Turkish pharmaceutical company Sanovel. It is utilized for the maintenance treatment of obstructive airway diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The Sanohaler device is designed to deliver various respiratory medications, including long-acting beta-2 agonists (LABA) like salmeterol and formoterol, inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) such as fluticasone propionate, and long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMA) like tiotropium bromide. A common formulation delivered via this device is the combination of salmeterol and fluticasone (marketed as Sanoair Sanohaler). The device features a button-operated mechanism to prepare the dose and is noted in clinical literature for having a relatively low rate of patient misuse compared to other common DPIs like the Diskus or Handihaler.
