Overview

Sanqi Qushi Granule (SQG) is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation used primarily for the treatment of nephrotic syndrome and idiopathic membranous nephropathy. It has demonstrated clinical efficacy in alleviating proteinuria and protecting podocytes from injury, which are key pathological features in nephrotic syndrome. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of kidney cell apoptosis and protection against podocyte damage via modulation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. SQG is being studied in multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials to evaluate its safety and efficacy in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy and primary nephrotic syndrome. It is derived from herbal components including Panax notoginseng root (Sanqi).
