Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanqihuogutang (三七活骨汤), also known as Sanqi Huogu Tang, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula. The name translates to "Notoginseng Bone-Activating Decoction." It is primarily used in TCM for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, bone injuries, and joint pain. The formula typically contains Panax notoginseng (Sanqi), along with other herbs that are believed to promote blood circulation, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and support bone healing. Its mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—invigorating blood flow and resolving stasis to facilitate tissue repair—but specific molecular targets or pharmacological mechanisms have not been established in Western medicine literature.
