Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanqihuogutang Modified is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction used for the treatment of early-stage avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH), specifically for patients presenting with the Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome type. Developed and studied at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, the formula is a modification of the traditional Sanqihuogutang, which features *Panax notoginseng* (Sanqi) as a key component. The decoction is designed to promote blood circulation, resolve stasis, and support bone health. In clinical settings, it is often evaluated as an adjunctive therapy alongside extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) to improve clinical outcomes, reduce pain, and facilitate the repair of necrotic bone tissue.
