Sanquin upstream coagulation factor small molecule

Sanquin Innovatie is developing a small-molecule program targeting upstream coagulation factors for the treatment of thrombosis and bleeding disorders. This preclinical-stage initiative aims to create antithrombotic therapies that decouple the prevention of clot formation from the risk of clinical bleeding, as well as prohaemostatic agents. By focusing on upstream factors in the coagulation cascade, such as those in the contact activation pathway (e.g., Factor XI or Factor XII), the program seeks to provide safer and more effective management for patients with various haemostatic imbalances. The specific candidates within this portfolio are currently in the preclinical phase of development.
