Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanquinnovate is developing a novel compound targeting ADAMTS13 for the treatment of Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). TTP is a rare and life-threatening blood disorder characterized by the formation of small blood clots throughout the body, typically caused by a deficiency or inhibition of the ADAMTS13 enzyme. This enzyme is responsible for cleaving ultra-large von Willebrand factor (vWF) multimers; its absence leads to excessive platelet aggregation and microvascular thrombosis. This therapeutic candidate aims to modulate ADAMTS13 activity to restore normal hemostasis and prevent the accumulation of UL-vWF multimers. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
