Sansulin Log-G

Sansulin Log-G is a biosimilar version of insulin glargine, a long-acting basal insulin analogue used for the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Developed by the Indonesian pharmaceutical company Sanbe Farma, it is designed to provide a consistent level of insulin for up to 24 hours, mimicking physiological basal insulin secretion. The drug acts as an agonist at the insulin receptor, facilitating glucose uptake into peripheral tissues such as skeletal muscle and fat, while simultaneously suppressing hepatic glucose production. Clinical development, including studies sponsored by Universitas Indonesia, has focused on establishing its therapeutic equivalence to the reference product, Lantus, particularly regarding efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity in patients with type 2 diabetes.
