Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanwu Jiaowan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, specifically the "cold-dampness obstruction" type according to TCM theory. The formulation is designed to dispel wind, eliminate dampness, warm the meridians, and relieve pain. In clinical practice, it is often evaluated as an adjunctive therapy to conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) like methotrexate to enhance therapeutic efficacy and improve clinical outcomes such as joint pain, swelling, and morning stiffness.
