Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanyong Jiedu Granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed for the treatment of non-lactational mastitis (NLM), specifically targeting plasmacytic mastitis and granulomatous lobular mastitis. It is primarily indicated for the 'lump-type' presentation of these conditions, which are characterized by chronic inflammation and the formation of benign breast masses. The drug is being evaluated in clinical trials led by Caigang Liu to assess its efficacy and safety as both a monotherapy and as part of a combination therapy. In these studies, it is compared against or added to standard treatments such as antibiotics (e.g., cefuroxime and metronidazole) for plasmacytic mastitis or corticosteroids (e.g., methylprednisolone) for granulomatous lobular mastitis. The treatment regimen typically involves the oral administration of 10 g of granules three times daily for a course of 56 days or until clinical resolution.
