Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sanzi Huangshi Wan, also known as Sanzi-huangshi pill (SHP), is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation containing Realgar, Radix pseudostellariae, Semen cuscutae, and Ligustrum lucidum. It is an arsenic-containing medicine being investigated as an adjuvant therapy for lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Preliminary studies suggest that Sanzi Huangshi Wan may improve erythrocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, and quality of life in patients with lower-risk MDS, potentially by regulating apoptosis and histone acetylation. The formulation is prepared as traditional pills and administered orally.
