Overview
Sanzifang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Jiangsu Province Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the prevention of recurrence in patients with colorectal adenomatous polyps following endoscopic polypectomy. The formula is composed of three main herbal ingredients: *Fructus Viticis* (Manjingzi), *Fructus Kochiae* (Difuzi), and *Fructus Cnidii* (Shechuangzi). Research indicates that Sanzifang exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which is a key driver of colorectal tumorigenesis. Additionally, it has been shown to modulate the gut microbiota, reduce the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α), and suppress the expression of Cyclin D1, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of precancerous cells.
