Overview

Sapelizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits the human interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor (IL-6Ra or CD126). This action blocks IL-6 signaling, which plays a critical role in immune regulation and inflammation. It is being investigated as a neoadjuvant therapy in combination with chemotherapy for locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
