Overview

SAR107375E is a potent, selective, and reversible small molecule inhibitor of Coagulation Factor X (Factor Xa). Originally discovered and developed by Sanofi, the rights for its development and commercialization in Greater China were licensed to Beijing Collab Pharmaceutical Development Co., Ltd. (Beijing Collab Pharma). The drug is primarily being investigated for the prevention of thrombosis in patients undergoing hemodialysis, where it serves as an alternative to traditional anticoagulants like heparin. By binding to the active site of Factor Xa, SAR107375E blocks the coagulation cascade at the convergence of the intrinsic and extrinsic pathways, thereby preventing the generation of thrombin and the subsequent formation of fibrin clots in the extracorporeal circuit.
