SAR438335 is a dual agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR), developed by Sanofi for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a unimolecular dual incretin receptor agonist, it was designed to mimic the effects of both GLP-1 and GIP hormones to improve glycemic control and promote weight loss. The drug reached Phase I clinical trials but was discontinued by Sanofi in late 2018 or early 2019.
