Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SET Technology is developing a DNA/RNA-based gene therapy that utilizes its proprietary Synthetic Expression Technology (SET) to deliver the genetic sequence for sargramostim, a recombinant form of human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). This therapeutic approach is designed to induce the expression of GM-CSF within the tumor microenvironment or systemically to stimulate the recruitment, maturation, and activation of dendritic cells and other antigen-presenting cells. By enhancing the presentation of tumor-associated antigens, the therapy aims to prime and activate tumor-specific T cells, thereby generating a robust and sustained anti-tumor immune response. The program is currently being evaluated for the treatment of several solid tumors, including melanoma, sarcoma, and breast cancer.
