Sarna is a brand of over-the-counter (OTC) topical anti-itch lotions developed and manufactured by Crown Laboratories, Inc. The Sarna product line includes various formulations designed to alleviate itching and discomfort associated with minor skin irritations, such as those from eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, rashes, minor burns, sunburn, minor cuts, scrapes, and poison ivy, oak, or sumac. Different Sarna products contain distinct active ingredients or combinations thereof, including Pramoxine Hydrochloride, Camphor, and Menthol, each providing specific mechanisms of action for itch and pain relief. The lotions are intended for external use and are generally well-tolerated, with some formulations being steroid-free, fragrance-free, and accepted by the National Eczema Association.
