SARS-CoV-2 recombinant protein vaccine Formulation 1 refers to a specific experimental preparation of a protein subunit vaccine designed to prevent COVID-19. This formulation typically consists of a recombinant version of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein, or a fragment such as the Receptor Binding Domain (RBD), produced in a specialized expression system (such as insect cells via baculovirus or mammalian cells).
