Overview

SARS-CoV2-CTLS is an investigational adoptive cell therapy being developed by New York Medical College for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19. The therapy consists of donor-derived SARS-CoV-2 specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) generated from family members who have previously recovered from the infection. These CTLs are designed to recognize and eliminate SARS-CoV-2 infected cells, leveraging a mechanism similar to that used for treating viral reactivations in transplant patients. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial (NCT04896606) to assess safety and efficacy in hospitalized patients.
