Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SARS hyperimmune globulin is a plasma-derived polyclonal antibody therapy developed by Weiguang Biological Products for the treatment of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). It is produced by purifying the immunoglobulin fraction from the convalescent plasma of donors who have recovered from SARS-CoV-1 infection. The product contains high titers of neutralizing antibodies that specifically target the SARS coronavirus. Upon intravenous administration, these antibodies provide immediate passive immunity by binding to viral antigens, thereby neutralizing the virus and preventing the infection of host cells. This therapeutic approach is intended to reduce viral load and improve clinical outcomes in patients with acute coronavirus infection.
