SART2 peptides are immunogenic components derived from the SART2 (Squamous cell carcinoma Antigen Recognized by T cells 2) protein, which serves as a tumor-rejection antigen. These peptides, specifically HLA-A24-restricted nonapeptides, are designed to function as a cancer vaccine by stimulating the immune system to produce antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). These CTLs are capable of recognizing SART2 epitopes presented on the surface of malignant cells, leading to targeted tumor cell destruction. SART2 is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, including squamous cell carcinomas and gynecologic malignancies such as ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancers. These peptides are often utilized as key components in multi-epitope vaccine candidates, such as TAS0314, to provide a broader and more robust anti-tumor immune response.
