Overview
**SASPject PT3** is an investigational intravenous antibacterial agent developed by Phico Therapeutics using the proprietary SASPject platform, which employs engineered bacteriophages to deliver a gene encoding small acid-soluble spore proteins (SASPs) specifically into *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* bacteria. The SASPs bind to and inactivate bacterial DNA regardless of sequence, preventing metabolism and reproduction while minimizing resistance development and sparing non-target bacteria. It targets serious hospital-acquired infections such as ventilator-associated pneumonia, urinary tract infections, bloodstream infections, and wound infections caused by multidrug-resistant *P. aeruginosa*, a WHO priority pathogen.[1][3][7]
