Overview

A Sativex-like combination is a pharmaceutical preparation consisting of botanical extracts containing a 1:1 ratio of delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (∆⁸-THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). This combination is being investigated for its neuroprotective properties, particularly in the context of Huntington's disease, where it has shown benefits in attenuating neurological deficits and striatal deterioration in preclinical models. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of the endocannabinoid system and other neurotransmitter pathways through its active phytocannabinoid components.
