Overview

Satricabtagene autoleucel (satri-cel, CT041) is an **autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy** specifically engineered to target Claudin18.2, a tight junction protein highly expressed in certain solid tumors, particularly gastric and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma. The product consists of a patient’s own T cells genetically modified to express a CAR targeting Claudin18.2, thereby enabling selective recognition and lysis of tumor cells. Satricabtagene autoleucel is the first CAR-T product to reach a pivotal phase in solid tumors and has demonstrated significant progression-free survival improvement over standard therapy in late-line advanced gastric/GEJ adenocarcinoma. Developed and manufactured by CARsgen Therapeutics, the therapy is in late-stage development and has been submitted for regulatory approval in China. It is also under investigation for early-line gastric/GEJ adenocarcinoma and for pancreatic adenocarcinoma[2][3][5][6][7][9].
