Overview

**Satumomab pendetide** is a murine IgG1 monoclonal-antibody chelate conjugate developed by Cytogen for preparation of the diagnostic radioimmunoscintigraphy agent indium In-111 satumomab pendetide. The B72.3 antibody component binds tumor-associated glycoprotein 72, a cell-surface mucin-associated antigen expressed on many adenocarcinomas, including colorectal and ovarian cancers. Its pendetide chelator enables radiolabeling with indium-111; after intravenous administration of the radiolabeled preparation, gamma-camera and SPECT imaging can localize TAG-72-positive extrahepatic tumor lesions. OncoScint CR/OV was FDA approved in 1992 for imaging known colorectal and ovarian cancer, withdrawn from the US market in 2002, and development was subsequently discontinued. The Glaxo Wellcome Panorex adjuvant colon-cancer trial context refers to edrecolomab, not satumomab pendetide.
