Overview

SAVVY vaginal gel is a microbicide containing 1.0% C31G, an equimolar mixture of alkyl dimethyl glycine and alkyl dimethyl amine oxide. It is designed for the prevention of male-to-female transmission of HIV. Its mechanism of action against HIV involves disrupting the outer membrane of enveloped HIV, acting as a virucide by lowering the surface tension of the pathogen.
