Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SB is a natural product new drug primarily composed of Pulsatilla saponin D, extracted from a complex of traditional Korean herbal medicines including Pulsatillae radix, Panax ginseng radix, and Glycyrrhizae radix. Its active components also include Deoxypodophyllotoxin and Pulsatillic acid, derived from Pulsatilla koreana. SB exerts its anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the proliferation of human colon cancer cells and inducing apoptosis through the modulation of the AKT and mTOR signaling pathways. Additionally, it demonstrates anti-angiogenic activity by reducing the expression of Hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) and Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).
