SB-030 is an investigational, locally applied, single-use extracellular matrix–modulating therapy being developed to improve outcomes following peripheral vascular interventions, particularly peripheral vein graft procedures and peripheral artery disease interventions. It is designed for perivascular or local administration at the time of surgery or endovascular intervention, where it binds to components of the vessel wall extracellular matrix and inhibits platelet deposition and early inflammatory cell activation, thereby aiming to reduce neointimal hyperplasia, restenosis, and the need for target lesion revascularization.[2][5][7][8][9][12][15] Preclinical porcine vascular injury models and the Phase 1/2 SHIELD trial in patients undergoing peripheral artery disease interventions have shown that SB-030 can reduce platelet adhesion, inflammatory activation, late lumen loss, and target lesion revascularization, supporting its further development as a device-like biologic adjunct to vascular procedures.[3][4][6][7][8][9][11][14][15]
