Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SB Flavon is a herbal-based medicinal composition developed by Nguyen Thi Trieu, M.D., for the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis B, as well as the prevention of cirrhosis and early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma. The formulation is a complex mixture of flavonoids and other compounds derived from *Phyllanthus urinaria*, *Adenosma glutinosum*, and *Eclipta prostrata*, supplemented with ascorbic acid and L-arginine. Its primary mechanism involves protecting liver cell membranes from oxidative stress, reducing liver enzymes such as alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and supporting the regeneration of liver parenchyma. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials in combination with the antiviral tenofovir to improve outcomes in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
