Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SB2 is a biosimilar of infliximab, a chimeric human-murine immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that binds to human tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). It is approved for the treatment of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, adult and pediatric Crohn's disease, adult and pediatric ulcerative colitis, psoriatic arthritis, and plaque psoriasis. SB2 was developed by Samsung Bioepis and has been shown to be similar to reference infliximab in terms of physicochemical attributes, TNF-α binding, TNF-α neutralization activities, and Fc-related biological activities.
