Overview

SB706504 is a potent and selective p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitor. It prevents lipopolysaccharide-stimulated transcription of a range of chemokines and cytokines in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) monocyte-derived macrophages. The compound has been studied for its anti-inflammatory effects, particularly in combination with dexamethasone, showing synergistic suppression of inflammatory gene expression. SB706504 significantly inhibits TNFα production from COPD and smoker alveolar macrophages, with enhanced effects when combined with glucocorticoids.
