Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SBC-115076 is a small-molecule inhibitor of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) that blocks PCSK9-mediated degradation of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), thereby increasing LDLR levels and cellular LDL uptake; it lowers plasma cholesterol in high-fat diet rodent models and has been used as a positive control tool compound in PCSK9 research, remaining at a preclinical research-use stage.
