Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SBC003 is a preclinical neuroprotective drug candidate developed by SunRegen Healthcare for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, with an initial focus on Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). The compound is designed to prevent or slow the degeneration of neurons, specifically photoreceptor cells in the retina. SBC003 was the primary asset involved in a proposed 2024-2025 reverse takeover (RTO) transaction between SunRegen Healthcare and Verisante Technology, which aimed to transition SunRegen into a public entity to fund Phase I/II clinical trials. The transaction was ultimately terminated in March 2025.
