Overview

SBC115 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 2 (ARPC2), developed by SapiensBio. Discovered using the company's AI-powered SAPIENTIA platform, SBC115 is an indication expansion of the SBC101 program, targeting a broad range of fibrotic conditions including liver, kidney, cardiac, pancreatic, and skin fibrosis. By inhibiting ARPC2, the drug aims to modulate actin cytoskeleton dynamics to prevent the pathological activation of fibroblasts into myofibroblasts, a key driver of tissue scarring. Efficacy has been demonstrated in human hepatic stellate cell models, and the program is currently undergoing in vivo evaluation to support its development across multiple organ-specific fibrotic diseases.
