Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SBD121 is a synbiotic medical food being developed by Solarea Bio for the dietary management of rheumatoid arthritis. [1, 5] It is a combination of prebiotic fibers and four food-derived microbial strains that are designed to modulate the gut microbiome. [7] Clinical studies are underway to evaluate its ability to aid in the management of symptoms in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis. [1, 3] The product has been shown to be well-tolerated and the microbial strains have been confirmed to be delivered viably to the gut where they transiently persist. [8, 4]
